Welcome to the National Platform for Advancing Best Practices for Breastfeeding Support!
You are just a few clicks away from entering the online home of the National Collaborative for Advancing the Ten Steps (NCATS) and the National Collaborative for Advancing Breastfeeding in Child Care (NCABC). The platform is a private online community designed to empower national sharing, learning and collaboration.
The National Collaborative for Advancing the Ten Steps (NCATS) aims to support public health programs that increase hospital implementation of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. We do this by sharing among member areas, and working in Committees and Taskforces to support over-arching efforts. Watch our video Call to Action to learn more.
The National Collaborative for Advancing Breastfeeding in Child Care (NCABC) is committed to sharing best practices that guide coalitions, state governments, child care, and others to implement programs and policies that build infrastructure to support a breastfeeding-friendly child care environment. We hope this endeavor will engage and support collaboration to advance breastfeeding duration for breastfed babies.
NCATS and NCABC include all states (and large cities!) in "areas". Areas appoint 2-5 people who best represent area-level efforts to advance the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding (NCATS) or Breastfeeding in Child Care (NCABC); others are able to learn and contribute through off-site collaboration. Diversity in all areas is recommended when selecting representatives.
Each group has a dedicated site with pages for whole-collaborative sharing, current and future committee and taskforce work, member area work, and more! If you would like to be an area representative, "request a registration" in the bar to the left. Our administrators will review your request within one week of submission.
NCATS and NCABC are both facilitated by the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute (CGBI).
